DeÄŸerli hocalarımız ve öÄŸrencilerimiz,
*Programlar sadece fakültemiz personeli, fakültemiz öÄŸrencileri ve enstitümüz öÄŸrencileri içindir. İçerikler de bu baÄŸlamda düzenlenmiÅŸtir.
Önemli not: Bazı programların kayıtları dolmuÅŸtur.
Fakültemizde görev yapmakta olan 2 Amerikalı hocamız aÅŸağıdaki kursları bir dönem boyunca sizlere sunmaktadır. Kursları baÅŸarı ile bitiren katılımcılar 2 hocamızın imzasını taşıyan bir baÅŸarı sertifikası alacaklardır.
Kurslar tamamen ücretsizdir. Yalnızca bir defaya mahsus 20 TL toplanacaktır. Bu ücret derslerde kullanıcalacak materyallerin alınmasında ve kurs sonunda verilecek sertifikaların basımında kullanılacaktır. Dönem sonunda kalan bir para olursa Soma maden ÅŸehitleri hesabına aktarılacaktır.
Kurslarda devamsızlık 3 haftadır. Daha fazla devamsızlığı bulunan katılımcılara sertifika verilemeyecektir.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Staff 1: Academic Writing Group A / Advanced/ for Staff/Jack/Mondays 10:00-12:00
This course will focus on the skills necessary for academic writing. Participants will learn strategies for organizing, styling and presenting academic papers, with specific focus on writing abstracts. Participants will also explore aspects of grammar and vocabulary for academic writing, and develop their skills in writing for academic audiences.
Staff 2: Speaking/ Beginner-Intermediate/For Staff/Taryn/Tuesday 10:00-12:00
This course will focus on developing speaking skills for both accuracy and fluency. Students will have an opportunity to practice the language they already know and to extend that knowledge through exercises aimed at improving their communicative skills.

This course will focus on developing students’ reading and writing skills in preparation for the YDS exam. Students will explore aspects of grammar and relevant vocabulary in the context they are likely to appear on exam day.
Grad 1: Preparing for YDS/For Graduate Students/Jack/Monday 8:00-10:00

Undergrads 1: General English /For Undergrads/ Taryn/ Thursday 13:00-15:00
In this course, offered for undergraduate students, students will cover all of the major aspects of learning English- grammar, vocabulary, listening, writing and speaking. The context of the course will be developed around daily English and language students are likely to use in everyday interactions.
Undergrads 2: Speaking/ Beginner-Intermediate/For Undergrads/Taryn/Tuesday 12:00-14:00 and Thursday 15:00 – 17:00
This course will focus on developing speaking skills for both accuracy and fluency. Students will have an opportunity to practice the language they already know and to extend that knowledge through exercises aimed at improving their communicative skills.
Undergrads 3: TOEFL & IELTS Preparation/For Undergrads/Taryn/Thursday 17:00-19:00
This course will be offered for students interested in taking either the American TOEFL exam or the British IELTS exam. Students will learn strategies and language required to master the exams and have an opportunity to develop their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in the manner they will be tested.
Undergrads 4: English for Specific Purposes: Science / For Undergrads/ Jamshed / Tuesday 11:00 -13:00
This course, offered to undergraduate students, will explore the language of the sciences, with a specific focus on vocabulary related to the fields of chemistry, physics, and the general sciences.
EO 1: Language in Media: Listening/Speaking/For Everybody/Taryn/ Tuesday 16:00-18:00
This course will focus on developing students’ receptive skills through songs, film clips, and other forms of entertainment and information media. Students will also have an opportunity to develop their speaking skills, with a specific focus on speaking for fluency.
EO 2: Writing Workshop: Paper Editing A / For Everyone / Jack / Wednesday 12:00-15:00
This unit, available to staff and graduate students, will allow students to bring in their original writings for help on aspects related to vocabulary, grammar, audience, flow and appropriacy.
